Our logistics manager stays on top of incoming shipments to be sure they arrive on time and keep our group members updated. Our advanced ERP system and B2B ensures the information flow between customer, office, warehouse, and shipping carriers is seamless and results in orders departing to the customer in a quick and efficient manner.

Our Story
Our family-owned business's story began over 50 years ago. In 2004 we were searching for a way to expand in order to make more use of the effective and efficient distribution system we had developed over the years.
It was then decided that Sporting Goods would offer an exciting opportunity in a wonderful industry. Hence BRG was established.
Our goal has been to use our family's years of experience in logistics/operations, sales, customer service, and marketing to successfully bring unique brands to the Canadian sports and footwear markets or provide these solutions to existing brands.

AN IDEA BORNE
After a 15 year career coaching tennis professionally, owner and president Jeff Salhany decides that he’s ready to start looking for another work path to take him into the future. His family has had a long time successful business in manufacturing and distribution. Jeff approaches Dad with some ideas.
BRS INCOPROTATED
2 years later Back River Sports is incorporated. Dad and Jeff share the business equally. The first lines it acquired were Feetures Socks, Supersox, and Oxysox. Stock was brought in and placed in Mom and Dad's basement.

BABY STEPS
Jeff had travelled across the country numerous times introducing himself and his brands to retailers far and wide. Relationships grew, sales grew, and Jeff was able to quit tennis and focus on the business full time.
A BIG MOVE
As sales grew, new brands were acquired, boxes in the basement grew. In an effort to reclaim her basement Mom kicks Jeff & Dad's business endeavors out of the house. Back River Sports is officially integrated into the family business and relocates to the main office @ 5800 Rue St-Denis in Montreal.

CHANGING FOR THE FUTURE
Major changes abound. The family business is divided up as principal owners retire including Dad. Back River Sports renames itself Back River Group inc. as it has expanded it's brand base into footwear products that also have relevance in other channels besides sporting goods. The Back River Group relocates to Ville St-Laurent Quebec and Jeff becomes the sole owner.
BIGGER STEPS
BRG has grown significantly. Brand and organization strength have brought the dedication of an accomplished sales force across the country, retailer relationships both big and small are stronger than ever. Dad returns to the business to help out as all that golf and tennis playing became tiresome!

SYSTEM OVERHAUL
A new information system updates BRG's efficiency and effectiveness in managing its business and information flow to be top notch. A new updated B2B improves fulfilment flow to be seamless and easier to use than ever. BRG has also introduced a new frontend website. Several exciting brands are to be acquired by BRG in 2021.
